KIDS GLASSES MADE SIMPLE

We have simplified the online kids glasses ordering process eliminating many of the annoying features of most online eyewear retailers.

Our site is simple, less complicated and we only carry Children’s glasses. We’ve chosen the best sellers from our Pediatric Eyewear Practice to simplify the ordering process even more. These models, colors and styles far outsell all other kids glasses over the years in our practice. We only use one type of lens so there’s no confusion as to what lens to choose. Polycarbonate lenses are already thin and light but also shatterproof to protect from impacts so you can rest easy knowing your child’s eyes are safe.  These are the recommended lenses for kids.  And you don’t have to upgrade your child to more expensive lenses not knowing if your child even needs them.

TIPS FOR BUYING KIDS GLASSES ONLINE

FRAME SIZE

Our 40 year Pediatric Optician’s have chosen the Best Kids Frames for Quality, Durability, Fashion and Fit. And have chosen the Bestselling Models, Styles, Colors and Sizes to help Simplify the Ordering Process. Our frames have a size and approximate age listed with them. You can also use your child’s existing frame measurements, located on the inside of one of the temples (arms) ie 46 13 135. The first number is the frames eye size and is the best measurement of the size, the second numbers are the bridge size and the third is the temple or arm length. This will give you a starting point and our Optician’s usually recommend going a millimeter or two larger to allow for growth.

PD’s

PD’s or Pupillary Distance is the distance between your child’s pupils and aids our Optician’s in centering your lenses directly in front of their pupils for optimum vision correction. The best way to get this measurement is from your Dr or Optician and will come a a single or dual pd. Single being one number measuring the distance from one pupil to another ie 48 mm. Dual meaning 2 numbers, one for each eye from the Center of the pupil to the centre of the child’s nose bridge ie 24 / 24 mm. You can measure the pd by using their present glasses and dotting the Center of the pupil with a marker and measuring between the 2 dots with a millimeter ruler. This will be the single pd.

SIZE GUIDE

The size guide is approximate as kids come in different shapes and sizes just like adults. If your child is bigger than most of their friends go up a size or down if they’re smaller than most.

AGE   2 – 5       SIZE   40 – 44

AGE   4 – 8       SIZE    45 – 48

AGE   8 – 11     SIZE    48 – 50

Created by our 40 year experienced Pediatric Optician’s due to customer demand for an online site for Kids Glasses that are too far from our retail practice and/or have limited selection at their local Optometrist or Optical store. For years we’ve heard comments like “they only had 2 pairs that actually fit my child at the Dr’s office…”

We have been fitting Children’s glasses for over 14 years at our Pediatric Optical Dispensary just outside Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and our Optician’s have over 40 years combined experience fitting kids glasses. Kids are referred to us from all over our province including Pediatric Ophthalmologists, Optician’s and Optometrists including from Children’s Hospital in Vancouver due to our expertise.

The Specialists at JKG have chosen our best selling, most affordable, fashionable and durable frames to simplify the online ordering process. We use only Polycarbonate lenses due to their safety, thinness and light weight, whilst at the same time reducing magnification or the coke bottle effect. Again this helps to simplify the ordering process as you don’t have to guess which lens to choose. You can rest assued your child is getting the best, safest, lightest and thinnest lens available.
